Currently, we only provide telephone and virtual sessions for individuals who are 18+ years of age. If you prefer in-person sessions, a possible option (out of several) is to visit the Psychological Association of Alberta website, and under ‘Find A Psychologist’ you can utilize multiple filters to narrow your search based on your needs.

MiT understands your eagerness to receive prompt responses, and we strive to provide a timely reply within five business days. However, if for any reason, you don’t hear back from us within seven days, please don’t hesitate to contact us through an alternate channel. MiT is dedicated to assisting you to the best of our abilities.

You may be seeking mental health services on your own, been referred to by a doctor, or another service provider. In Alberta, telepsychology/virtual therapy is covered by most insurance/benefits providers. Contact your provider to check if such costs are indeed covered, and if so, to get informed about how your coverage works; for example, how many sessions does your provider cover? Do you need to supplement any out-of-pocket costs? MiT does not offer direct billing. Once payment is received at the end of your session, you will get a receipt that contains relevant information needed for your claim.

Your privacy is our topmost priority, and we don’t take it lightly. We’ll make sure to discuss it in detail during your first session. We won’t proceed with therapy until you’re 100% satisfied with all the answers to your questions.

MiT does not offer emergency/crisis psychological services outside scheduled appointment times. In case of immediate assistance or during a crisis, contact local emergency services, the nearest emergency department, local crisis line, Alberta Health Services Mental Health Help Line 1-877-303-2642 (24/7), or Talk Suicide Canada 1-833-456-4566 (24/7).

When it comes to your sessions, we are a strong advocate for quality over quantity. Throughout your time with us, we will collaboratively discuss, modify, and assess how your goals for therapy are taking shape. The overarching nature of therapy is not to aim for perfection, which is a mirage that can trigger further suffering, but to awaken your confidence and to activate wellbeing.

You are not considered a client of MiT until both parties have a chance to establish a formal agreement that confirms everyone’s understanding of the consent terms, including your privacy limits.
